All of our sinks start with 16 gauge stainless steel. By the end of the stamping process, the bowl / basin becomes closer to an 18 gauge. Many companies will market the same sink as strictly a 16 gauge, but the most honest way to market it is to state that it is a 16/18 gauge product. It is impossible to stamp a straight 16 gauge unless it is a one piece construction, which is more of a hand crafted product. All of the brand name sink companies sell the same gauge sink that we do.
Our 16 gauge sinks are 25% thicker than sinks that are marketed at 18 gauge and 50% thicker than sinks that are marketed at 20 gauge.
