Copper Sinks

Pure Mined Copper

All of our copper sinks are made from 99% pure mined copper. It is mined from ore (rock made up of different minerals) and goes through a long extraction process to get a sufficient amount of copper. We cannot say our sinks are 100% pure copper because air-born materials can penetrate the copper during the production process. The important thing to remember is our copper is not recycled from scraps that could contain other metals.

Ground copper is melted at high temperatures and poured into casts or molds. Once the copper is set, it is cleaned and polished. After it has been polished, it is hand-hammered to create a beautiful texture.

Oxidation

Oxidation

Copper is naturally antibacterial and will not rust or stain, making it low maintenance. Oxidization happens when copper is exposed to oxygen and will occur with any copper material as well as benefit the look of your sink. The oxidization process will help to “repair” small scratches on the surface and over time will naturally create a patina finish.

Hammered Finish

Hammered Finish

The hand-hammered finish and aged patina that comes standard on all of our copper sinks helps to add beauty to the sink as well as hide any minor scratches or blemishes. The patina will continue to change colors during the life of the sink which should never be polished or scrubbed. Polishing could greatly compromise the look of the patina.
