MR Direct International VS. Competition
Because we are not a big bloated company, we have a lot of control over the quality of our products. Our engineers have designed our sinks to be superior over name brands such as Kohler, Blanco, Elkay, and Franke.
MR Direct: Manufactured with 16 gauge cold-rolled type 304 stainless steel. This material is guaranteed not to rust or stain.
Competitor: Often manufactured with 18 or 20 gauge steel, which is 25-50% thinner than our 16 gauge steel. Their steel is more prone to bending, denting, and scratching due to the thinner material.
MR Direct: Our stainless steel has 18/10 Chromium/Nickel content; the highest quality you will find in the United States for a kitchen sink. This quality is what makes the steel “stainless”.
Competitor: Opts to cut corners by using steel with 18/8 Chromium/Nickel content or less; more prone to rusting and staining due to the lower nickel content.
MR Direct: Our most popular models are of one-piece construction. This is a more advanced construction that ensures the sturdiest kitchen sink you will find.
Competitor: Most sinks will be 2 or 3 piece construction. These sinks are less sturdy and will not last as long.
MR Direct: All of our sinks and faucets come backed by our Limited Lifetime Warranty*.
Competitor: Usually only offer a 5 year warranty on their products, and only 1 year warranty for products used in a commercial setting.
MR Direct: Some of our products are cUPC Certified. This means they have met or surpassed all requirements specified by Uniform Plumbing Code of the United States and Canada. Please see our UPC page for more information
Competitor: Almost all other companies are NOT cUPC certified.
16 gauge stainless steel is about 25% thicker than 18 gauge. The 16 gauge construction makes for a strong and sturdy undermount stainless steel sink. Sinks with smaller basins (bowls) can use a lower gauge because the bowl does not need as much support.
304 Certified Stainless Steel helps withstand scratches and makes the sink more stainless, giving it a much longer life. All MR Direct sinks are built with certified 304 Stainless Steel. This is the highest quality steel that can be used in a stainless sink.
