Let me begin by saying I began searching for our kitchen faucet by googling "modern kitchen faucets." I felt after a few days that I had seen every faucet there ever was and was sadly disappointed to see how few truly modern kitchen faucets were out there! Don't get me wrong, they do exist but cost upwards of a thousand dollars and we just could not justify that amount of money. (Think Kohler, Delta, Watermark, and a few others) I should also say my wife's criteria was that she wanted two separate handles and a sprayer so that also nixed the single hole "spring" style commercial sprayer faucets as well as many others that fall under the modern category. For $148 dollars this faucet is fantastic. I was afraid we were going to get some faux metal plastic like the cheaper glacier bay or american standard faucets you get at the big box stores but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and heft of the materials in the faucet. All of the fittings are brass. The handles and faucet I believe are brass also but of course have a brushed nickel look. We ordered the sprayer as well which while the base is brass, unfortunately the sprayer is faux metal plastic. The packaging was more than adequate and they even supply plumbers tape! (though I actually didn't need/use it) Installation was pretty easy, I literally only hand tightened everything with no leaks. We installed our faucet in a 2.25" concrete countertop so I was a little worried that the fittings wouldn't reach the handles or the faucet. The faucet was perfect but the handles are cutting it VERY close. I may go back and shave out a cavity of concrete on the underside to give better clearance. The way they secure the handles and faucet are unlike any faucet I've ever used that uses those plastic washers that always hurt your fingers. This uses a combination of a rubber gasket and thick steel washer that cinch the handles and faucet down to the counter with 3 philips set screws in a thick brass "nut". There is no way you're moving these after they're installed, they are very secure. That being said, the sprayer is secured with those cheap plastic washers and for our 2.25" counter I will have to get an extender because the tube on the sprayer base is just not long enough to allow the washer to grab the tube. My only problem with installation was aligning the square handles and their respective bases so that the base is parallel to the counter edge and the handles too are parallel to the counter edge when in the off position. This just requires a little bit of play with the fittings underneath and rotating each and playing with the set screws and making sure everything aligns how you want. This was easy for me because I didn't have the sink installed yet so I could easily grab the handle on top at the same time as the fitting underneath. So I could see this being very frustrating for someone with a sink already installed. Looking at this faucet is pure eye candy and using it is great. Looks very clean and modern. The square handles are very unique and sort of fun to use. The only shocker was the handles rotate *in* where my wife and I keep wanting to rotate them *out* so we'll have to get used to that! (we have hot on the left and cold on the right) Water pressure is very good, better than our last faucet though when you turn it on full blast the faucet has sort of a slight recoil affect. The faucet itself rotates smoothly but I am worried that the rotating mechanism will get dirty and I don't think you can easily clean it without taking it apart. My single biggest gripe with this set really has nothing to do with the faucet at all - Like I said we ordered the "matching" sprayer as well. Now, I put matching in quotes because the only part of the sprayer that matches the aesthetic of the faucet is the base (which is great looking and of the same materials as the handles). The sprayer itself is dare I say, ugly. Its a bulbous anomaly which I can only assume its manufactures consider an ergonomic grip. You can pretty much tell just by looking at it that its plastic and it just doesn't make sense why they felt this design should go with this fantastic looking faucet. The base seems like its a universal base so I'm going to look into getting a different sprayer - it's just too ugly it'd be a crime to leave it on our counter! In closing I have one thing to say. If you're looking for a modern 3 (or 4) hole MODERN faucet with clean lines, you won't find a better deal.
