Sturdiness You Can Depend On
Each MR Direct 16-gauge kitchen sink is constructed from cold-rolled 304-grade stainless steel. The superior-quality composition and corrosion-resistant properties ensure a strong product that you can depend on. 16-gauge sink models are 25% thicker than the industry standard 18, and come fully-insulated to diminish sound. Their brushed satin finish helps conceal any scratches that may occur over time.
Installation Methods
Apron sinks are mounted either over or under the countertop, depending on your preference. A custom-fit opening is required to be cut out of the countertop. Apron sinks stylishly display an exposed, front-facing surface that extends 1-2 inches outward from the cabinetry.
16-gauge stainless steel undermount kitchen sinks sit below the surface of the counter, meaning the edge of the countertop is exposed. Undermount models must be installed underneath granite countertops, or an alternatively solid surface.
Cleaning your 16-Gauge Sink
To clean your sink after everyday use, it's important to rinse with water and towel dry afterwards. Most cleaners contain chemical additives that will compromise the luster of your sink if they are used daily, but regularly rinsing with water is sufficient.
Once a week, saturate your sink with a mild abrasive cleaner and use a soft cloth or sponge to scrub with the grain of the sink. Rinse immediately and towel dry. Never use steel wool or allow chlorides to remain in contact with your sink for long periods of time.
