Avocado Bruschetta – Recipe

Although they have long been associated with each other, butter is not the only food that can be spread on your toast. It’s time to leave ordinary behind, and experience a fresh new bruschetta with avocado that is not only tasty, but healthy. Try it for breakfast!

Ingredients:

  • 3 avocados, mashed
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 tomatoes, fresh, chopped
  • 1/2 sweet onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 uncut loaf of your favorite bread

Directions:

  1. Cut bread into thick slices (1/2" or larger). Toast to desired darkness. Can also be grilled or fried using a little vegetable oil.
  2. Dice tomatoes and onion. Set aside.
  3. Mince garlic.
  4. Spoon avocados into a bowl, squeeze in lime juice, add minced garlic, and mash together. Add salt to taste.
  5. When toast is ready, spread with as much avocado mixture as you prefer.
  6. Sprinkle diced tomato and onion onto avocado spread.
  7. Enjoy!
