Add Decor Pieces
Add Decor Pieces
Personally, I like to add fabric to my shelves, like hand towels, clear jars filled with ear swabs and cotton balls on my bottom shelf. My top shelf is where I add some greenery, even faux plants work great! I also like to add a small candle and another functional piece like a roll of toilet paper.
Bathroom Shelf Decorating Ideas:
Keep the Balance
Keep the Balance
With this type of project, keep the balance and visual weight in mind. If you want to avoid the look of clutter, always aim for symmetry (less is more when it comes to styling shelves). Also, pick items that are relatively the same size to each other. I like to sometimes mix different textures and sizes, but be sure to stick to your color palette or style. Large decor pieces can stand alone while smaller ones can be put in pairs or serve as an accent item to a stack of books (odd numbered items tend to look better in a group than even numbered).

Identify the Color Palette
Identify the Color Palette
A defined color palette is important when adding decorative elements to a shelf. With this, you can go neutral, bold, or even add metallic elements. Mixing textures and colors will create a more complex and stylized look. Picking your color palette is all based on your design style, the pre-existing room’s theme, and how bold you want your shelf decor to be.

Think Minimalistic
Think Minimalistic
Keeping it simple yet functional is appealing to the eye and gives a clean look. Keep the purpose of the shelf in mind. Is it to store books, artwork, or your plants? I like to stick with 3-4 items per shelf to avoid a cluttered look.
When decorating, I like to move things around to see how they look in other settings. I take my time playing with different arrangements of decor pieces. Remember, you need to spend time styling and editing all of your pieces until everything falls into place and looks perfect to you.
Happy decorating friends!
