What inspired you to do this bathroom makeover?

I renovated a majority of my home last summer and left the bathroom untouched until now. I didn’t want to completely change it, so I gave the space a much-needed refresh without totally remodeling it.

How did you set the budget for this project?

How did you set the budget for this project?

I set my budget to $350 dollars and ended up only spending $200 (Woohoo!).

Here’s how I did it:

  • PLAN AHEAD: I decided on the overall look I wanted to achieve by doing some inspiration research. (Spoiler Alert: I went for a fresh and clean, traditional style!)
  • MAKE A LIST: I narrowed down my list of “wants” that would create my dream room: a new modern mirror, vintage light fixture, and an antique bronze faucet.

Overall, think about what you have around your home to reuse and replace into your bathroom. Be creative and use leftover paint from previous projects or extra decor pieces that make more sense in your bathroom design. From there, set your list of “wants” by figuring out what you don’t have.

PRO TIP: Try to set your budget at the highest (affordable) amount, and plan each step ahead. Search for the best prices to stay within limits, potentially saving money at the end.

How did you decide you wanted a traditional-styled bathroom?

How did you decide you wanted a traditional-styled bathroom?

Recently, my taste has been evolving into a vintage/ traditional aesthetic. Each room in my home is unique in its own way, following a vintage or traditional farmhouse style, or a combo of the two. I wanted our bathroom to have a “clean” look since it’s small, so I went with a traditional design to tie it into the rest of the home.

Don’t go overboard with both colors! Pick one as the main color and incorporate the other color through small details. White is my go-to, so it was no surprise that I would use it as my main color. I added pops of black by painting the baseboard and knobs on the vanity, which is a great way to update the room without overspending.

PRO TIP: Add fun patterns and textures into your design by placing printed bath towels, industrial iron shelf holders, and wooden shelves into your space.
