My aunt is naturally an artist and she has always been a big influence on me. I have always admired her collection of unique furniture. Years ago my aunt bought a rustic bathroom vanity covered in paint strokes, and my mother asked if she was going to paint over it. However, my aunt kept it in its condition because she wanted to keep the antique rustic style. This made me curious about how certain pieces or decor can play a big role in making a space unique.

Can you tell us about your interior design experience?

Can you tell us about your interior design experience?

For the first four years of my career, I had the privilege to work as a Business Development Interior Designer for Deyaar Property Development in Dubai. The diverse clients I had the opportunity to work with really expanded my horizon on the differences of styles and tastes in design. Most of my projects were commercial and ranged from designing government and privately owned company offices to hospital waiting rooms. Dubai is one of the fastest growing cities with countless projects, so I learned that the design opportunities were endless. Currently, as a designer at MR Direct, I am learning new things everyday and expanding my knowledge in more residential, kitchen and bath designs.

My design style has grown through each project I’ve worked on. My problem-solving skills and communication has definitely improved as well. Through my experience, I’ve started adding my clients’ personality and culture into my designs. I also continuously pick up trends to use in my work. Overall, I have learned every design should always bring peace and happiness to a room.
