Tell us about your first bathroom renovation. How did you start?
I’ve been so excited about updating our master bathroom. I knew I wanted vessel sinks, a barn door, and shiplap!

We started by adding wood plank tile flooring. Next, we added shiplap to the walls and ceiling! We kept our existing cabinets and painted them with Benjamin Moore White Dove, added black hardware for contrast against the white cabinetry, and a new butcher block countertop. We stained the butcher block countertop Jacobean, a dark rich color that gave an even more rustic feel to the space. The icing on the cake was added porcelain vessel farmhouse style sinks and gorgeous brushed bronze faucets!
I added a fun farmhouse contemporary wallpaper design to the walls inside of our toilet area. We added a barn door for a final statement piece! I love how the entire space came together.

I loved the classic look of the porcelain vessel sink, it just screamed farmhouse to me! The Antique Bronze faucet just felt like a great compliment to the entire space and matched the farmhouse lighting we chose so well.

What was the most rewarding part of your bathroom renovation? Also, the most challenging?
The most rewarding part of our bathroom renovation was definitely seeing the finished project! It was so fun seeing it all come together step by step. I still smile every time I walk in our bathroom.
The most challenging part of this renovation was when we were pulling out the old countertop and we cracked our huge builder-grade mirror! It was originally going to stay and get framed out in barn wood. Oops! Now I’m so happy it happened, we ended up adding the shiplap behind the sinks and fun round gold-trimmed mirrors! It’s probably my favorite view in the bathroom.

Take a week or two off of work! Haha, no really, just go for it! A big project like this can definitely be intimidating but my husband and I are a great team. I’d definitely begin by making a mood board of what you like, to get an overall design idea of what you want for your space!

How would you describe the variety/quality of MR Direct products?
I think that the variety and quality of MR Direct products are honestly like no other. MR Direct has so many styles and options to choose from and the prices are amazing. The customer service is outstanding! I’d definitely recommend my friends and family and I’ll absolutely be using them again in the future.

According to my husband, I can’t even finish one project before I’m thinking and planning another! We are currently working on our guest bathroom; I just tried something I’ve actually never done or ever seen for that matter. I’m adding a brick countertop…. Stay tuned to see if it turns out. I’m super excited!
