It's the most wonderful post of the year! Welcome to a playful, pastel wonderland where gingerbread houses are the focal point of this season in my kitchen.
Today I'm sharing how to decorate with simple pieces that scream WOW! First off, my kitchen has pink small appliances and décor pieces since that’s my favorite color. When I decided to remodel my kitchen, I knew I would include pastel colors, however, I didn’t realize how nicely it would complement my holiday décor style. I was beyond thrilled when I found the gingerbread houses, pink deer and a pink Santa to bring everything together. Here are some of my tips on how to decorate this holiday season:
Kitchen Island
Kitchen Island
Always use a tall statement piece in the center of your island and surround it with smaller décor items. For example, the gingerbread house is my statement piece, so I placed two pink deer on each side, posing as bodyguards to this beautiful house. Remember to keep the size of your island in mind and maintain a clean look by not cluttering too many pieces on the surface.
Window Sill

Oh, what fun it is to style a kitchen window! I placed three 24-inch, pre-lit flocked trees to create a winter wonderland look. I also added fake snow around the base of the trees for the snowy effect and iridescent ornaments to make it magical.
Countertop

I like to keep minimal things on my countertops, so I only styled mine with pink and white ginger jars, mini pink gingerbread domes, and a pink Santa and nutcracker. Check out how I strategically placed them around, surrounding my stand mixer and coffee maker!
Range Hood
Range Hood
I couldn't wait to style my new range hood! I knew I wanted to place a simple, yet the prettiest wreath with a pink bow on my hood. Here's how you can make one too:
Directions:
Dip sponge in mod podge and paint the peony petals on places you would like to get the frosty effect. I painted most of my peony. Now, sprinkle the Buffalo snowflakes on to the wet mod podge and let it dry. After they dry, use the hot glue gun and attach the peony to the bottom center of the wreath. Finally, make a pretty bow and attach it to the top center of the wreath.
Now it’s time to hang your wreath on your hood and enjoy!
I hope you are inspired to make your own wreath, but most of all to decorate with pastel colors and gorgeous gingerbread houses this season. Happy Holidays!
