White granite vessel sink inside of a large bathroom with navy blue cabinetry, and soft gray walls.
These Bathroom Styles were Made for Stone Sinks
October 16, 2020

Peanut butter and jelly, spaghetti and meatballs, Jack and Rose—some things are just meant to go together. That’s exactly how our interior designers feel about these bathroom styles and stone sinks.

Shabby-Chic

Shabby-Chic

Shabby-chic might bring to mind soft tones and patterned linens. But many forget that these “shabby” vibes only become “chic” when they’re juxtaposed with hard, confident layers of brushed metal and, for your sink, stone.

Granite sinks and stone countertops add an anchor to the shabby-chic style and bring out all the ribbons, patterns, and eclectic décor.

Southwestern

Southwestern

The southwestern style is full of sunset colors, natural woods and greens, and plenty of stoney accents to bring out your home on the range.

Grey granite or even an ashy concrete sink adds to the earthy feel of the southwestern style. Or, if you’re going for a lighter, open-air feel, a sandstone sink atop a white counter brings the colors of a sunny southwestern day inside.

Industrial

Industrial

Industrial bathrooms with too much piping, metal, and man-made elements can come off as dreary instead of modern and crisp.

Brick is often used in industrial décor to counter the harsh metal, but a stone sink can do the trick if you don’t want to tear down a wall (or brick one up). We’d recommend white granite to offset the dark metals and red hues.

Mediterranean

Mediterranean

Mediterranean bathrooms are similar to the Victorian style in their opulence—think the glory days of ancient Greece and Rome. But where the Victorian style is golden and rigid, the Mediterranean style is soft and rich.

Full of cushy ottomans, woven rugs, and rich wooden tones, this style transforms the simplicity of nature into luxury. That’s why it’s so important for its centerpieces (the sink and tub/shower) to be stone. Marble works well, but granite and limestone sinks are also popular.

If you’re looking to achieve one of these bathroom styles, we recommend a uniquely-made stone sink. Choose a lifetime-guaranteed MR Direct stone sink for one-of-a-kind addition to your bathroom!
