Soon, we will be launching our Augmented Reality application for iPad users. This application utilizes breakthrough technology to create a distinctive and interactive program for our professional and independent customers. The app will be available to the public with our own products, as well as customization for our professional client’s products with images from their collections. This will allow customers to view products in their own home to gain a better perspective of what they are purchasing.
AR uses a variety of media such as graphics, video and touch to mimic the real world. In order for an AR app to work, a sheet of paper containing a sensory target must be placed on the countertop sensory side up. The onboard camera must then be pointed towards the target until the object appears on screen. The real-life environment will be modified to include the object that the user has chosen. Since augmented reality uses real-time views, different angles can be seen by simply moving the device around the sensory target.
The easy-to-use interface of the application allows consumers to choose a product from our sink selector organized by material, size and color, etc. Once the sink is chosen, and the camera is fixed on the target, the sink will appear on screen with the user’s real environment surrounding it. The detailed viewing options will give the illusion that the sink is actually installed in the home.
Accompanying the sink selector is a countertop selection guide that will provide numerous varieties of granite and solid surface choices to appear on screen along with your chosen sink. Different styles of edging and countertop expansion options will also be available to view. For our business clients, we will offer customization of the application to include their own countertop products. Through the application, users will be able to easily save photos of their creation with the touch of their fingertip.
